Every person you meet will see your face, and if you have dark circles under your eyes it is going to be very noticeable. Whether it is caused by stresses in your life, poor lifestyle habits or even just plain heredity, nobody likes them. If you are like me, the dark circles make me feel very self conscious anytime someone looks into my eyes. Many of us struggle with them, so what can you do to get rid of them? I have tried different creams out there, most of which don’t really work. Sometimes you can cover it up with a nice concealer, but over time the skin under the eyes becomes thick and covering it up is no longer effective.
Some of the home remedy treatments that have worked for me are listed below. Try them out, and see if any of them will work for you.
First of all, just like you see in the movies or on TV, try tea bags or cucumbers. Both of these are known to reduce tired swollen eyes. The tea bags will help reduce puffiness. Second I like to use a frozen q-tip around my eye (wet it, then freeze it). The coolness relieves the red swollen appearance. And my last, but probably favorite solution is Preparation H. Lots of models and actors use it, and it really works.

Who could have imagined back in the teen years that into my 30’s I would still be dealing with acne? I thought that was a problem that I could get rid of. But now the problem I am faced with is not only acne but also wrinkles and age spots on top of acne. It is so frustrating to feel like I have to buy multiple products to treat all of the different issues.
Well, when I was out shopping awhile back and I found something that I thought I’d give a try. It is Neutrogena acne and wrinkle cleanser. It is supposed to treat all the problems that I have been dealing with lately. So far I have been using it for about two weeks, every night. And I am happy to say that I am starting to see results. The acne problem is starting to subside, and the wrinkles around my eyes and mouth are starting to fade. It is nice to have just one product that I have to use each night, because I have never been one to spend a whole lot of time on my nightly routine. My skin is not dried out like it gets when I use other products and I am seeing the results I want. It doesn’t get much better than that.

It seems like green tea is everywhere these days. I hear it advertised on the radio, TV and see it in lots of different weight loss products. I have several friends who have tried green tea, and have sworn by their results that it is effective and amazing.
My husband decided to try it out a little over a month ago. We had heard advertisements for Green Tea HP on the radio and he was certain that it would work for him. The reason he wanted to try it out was not for weight loss, but for the other benefits that could be found from drinking it. He heard that it could help with feeling run down, giving you more energy and helping people to feel more focused and alert. At first I was a little hesitant because of the price. But once I gulped it down and got past my initial fears, we made the big purchase and he has been taking it ever since.
He drinks about one glass of green tea every day and has had great results with it. He is feeling better than he has in years. He doesn’t get that tired run down feeling in the evenings, and is sleeping better than ever at night. While it was on the expensive side for supplements, in my opinion, it has been well worth it just to have my husband feel better.

Dance is such a fun way to get your body moving without the boredom of some other exercises. When I am dancing it feels like a celebration even when I struggle to learn new movements. It makes me so happy, and I feel so refreshed after wards.
I sat in on a dance class this morning. It was so fun to feel my body moving to the rhythm of the music. I love the way the beat moves through me and encourages me to keep moving even when I start to feel so tired. The class was fairly large with over 45 girls and just a couple of guys in attendance. The class was held in the ball room of our local university, so there was plenty of space for everyone. It was a little challenging to help everyone to learn the moves and keep up with the instructor. But once we all got it down, it was absolutely amazing. There were dancers from every skill level, from beginners up to advanced. It was nice to see how the stronger dancers helped those who were struggling to learn the moves and encouraged them along the way.
If you are tired of your workouts and need a little pick me up: try a dance class, and I just bet you’ll love it as much as I do.

I’d like to mention the fact that – Water is free, so “Drink up!”
There is nothing more refreshing on a hot summer day like today, than a tall glass of ice water. Water is the key to a healthy diet. It will help your body to rid itself of toxins both inside your body and outside. Because our bodies are made up of over 80% water, we should all be diligent in getting enough water into our bodies every day. The average person should be drinking half their body weight in ounces each day. So if I weigh 140 lbs. I need to drink 70 ounces of water every day. That number may sound like a lot, and it is more than the previously recommended eight 8 ounce servings a day but it is totally doable. The easiest thing for me to do in order to keep track of how much I am drinking, is to carry around my 32 oz. cup. I know that if I drink four of these a day, I am over my needed water intake. I also know that I feel much better through the day and snack a lot less when I am drinking my water. This fact alone is encouragement enough to get me to drink more. But also remember that drinking lots of water will help your skin and hair to be healthier and shinnier.

There is a lake just a few hours from where I live that is the most amazing place I have ever been. When I am on the sandy beaches looking out at the clear blue sky and listening to the water splash onto the shore, I find more peace and calm than I ever realized was possible. There are times when life is so crazy and hectic that I have to take a minute to meditate. Memories of being at the lake are where I go to find my happy place. I am always amazed at how refreshing it is to take a minute with several deep breaths to meditate and give my mind and body some down time to regroup.
I think it is important for every individual to take a few minutes every day to meditate and refresh your mind and soul. Meditation is a skill that I have had to develop over time. At first I felt silly and awkward in my meditation practice. But over time I have come to find peace and solitude in those few fleeting moments each day. It is important for everyone to feel that they have at least one place of solitude that they can go to whether physically or mentally, in order to regroup and refresh their mental health.

Stress is a five letter word that most of us have in our daily lives. Stress effects so many aspects of our life from our social well being, our physical health and emotional state. Stress can also be good. Did you know that? Stress can help you accomplish things through out the day. It is what kicks your butt into gear when otherwise you might not have desire to get things done. So when I talk about stress, don’t think that it is all bad but also know that the stress I am referring to is the stress that overcomes your life. The stress that piles up and doesn’t seem to have an end, this is the stress I am talking about. While I don’t have any miraculous answers, I just want to tell you a little story about a stressful time in my life.
I was working part time, two kids and a house. I have a wonderful husband who was also working full time and going to school full time. We have bills that just wouldn’t let up and stress that kept piling on. During this time I was also diagnosed with cancer and started treatments that made me awful sick to say the least. I felt inadequate in almost every aspect of my life and could see no way out. It was during this period of my life that I found yoga and meditation. I can’t say that it cured my cancer or paid my bills. But what it did do for me was make it easier for me to handle the stressed that I faced day in and day out. Starting out with yoga and meditation, I felt a little silly. I didn’t know what I was doing and I felt like everyone was watching my inadequacies. It felt like another stress. But as I continued my yoga practice, I began to feel my stresses melting away (only temporary of course) and I was able to find a peace that had been lacking in my life.
